In 2012, we celebrated our 550th anniversary.
It’s just over half a millennium since King Edward IV granted us full livery company status in 1462.
We’re active supporters of education, charity and trade.
We help a wide range of educational and medical charities, and maintain strong links with the oil, edible fats and candle trades.
We’re at home in the heart of traditional London.
We moved into our current Hall in 1672, and have been based on Dowgate Hill since 1476.
We’re one of London’s oldest social networks.
At the heart of what we do is an active and supportive membership, as it has been since our first gatherings in the 1200s.
