As a contribution by the Tallow Chandlers Historical Group to the celebration of the 550th year of the Company’s Incorporation in 2012, a paper was produced on Understanding the Armorial Bearings of the Tallow Chandlers.

Please note that the illustration on page 7 of the 1456 Grant of Arms features Garter Smert, wearing the tabard and crown of a King of Arms, and not Henry VI as stated.
