At our Election Court on Tuesday 7th July, Helen Whelan was elected as Master of the Tallow Chandlers’ Company. Mark Boult was elected as First Warden, Susan Dalgarno as Second Warden, Bill Bexson as Third Warden, and Richard Simpson as Fourth Warden. The Court also welcomed William Hawes, Jonathan Norbury and Laurence Parish as new Assistants, and the new Master appointed Jonathan Spence as her Deputy.
Helen joined the Company through patrimony in May 1997 and, in 2005, became only the second lady admitted to the Livery. She is the first lady to represent the Company as Master, and we are very much looking forward to the year ahead.
